ANALYSIS OF TECHNOLOGICAL FEATURES OF BENDING FIR WOOD
Abstract
The technological features of the process of bending fir wood as a pinwood species, promising for the manufacture of curved elements for structural and furniture purposes, have been analyzed. It has been shown that the suitability of fir for bending is determined by the combined action of anatomical, physical-mechanical and technological factors, among which the most important are the features of the microstructure of the cell wall, humidity, width of annual layers, wood density, bending direction (radial or tangential), as well as the parameters of preliminary plasticization. At the same time, the complex influence of the controlled parameters of the technological process of bending itself - the humidity of the workpiece, the hydrothermal preparation mode, the thickness of the workpiece and the bending radius - on the formability of the material, elastic recovery and defect formation remains insufficiently studied.
