WAYS OF UTILIZING WOOD DUST AS A TOOL FOR THE TRANSITION FROM THE CONCEPT OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT TO A REGENERATIVE APPROACH

Abstract

The paper examines the main directions for the utilization of wood dust as a secondary resource of the woodworking industry in the context of the transition to a regenerative economy. Environmental and economic aspects of wood dust generation, its physicochemical properties, and prospects for its application in the construction, energy, chemical, and agricultural sectors are analyzed. The influence of dust particle size distribution on the technological properties of materials and processes is investigated. It has been established that the rational utilization of wood dust contributes to reducing environmental impact, minimizing waste volumes, and ensuring resource conservation. Particular attention is paid to the potential for producing biofuels, wood-polymer composites, and lightweight construction materials using wood dust.
