SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AS A KEY ELEMENT OF THE MODERN GLOBAL POLITICAL AND LEGAL SPACE

Abstract

Sustainable development is argued as a component of the modern political and legal space, which has become a turning point for the development of the international community's approach to issues related to the environment and socio-economic development. The key elements of the concept that determine its integrative nature are noted. The political and legal potential of the goals of sustainable development as principles and systemic goals of the European Union is revealed. The need to take into account the environmental factor in the processes of socio-economic development and environmental management on a global scale is emphasized, giving the EU principles of environmental protection global significance. Against the background of the "green revolution", paradigm shifts are substantiated not only in production, technology, consumption and lifestyle, but also in management, science and education.
