REALITIES AND PROSPECTS OF THERMAL MODERNIZATION OF BUILDINGS IN UKRAINE IN THE CONTEXT OF DECARBONISATION
Abstract
Thermal modernization is studied as a tool for decarbonization of the construction sector of Ukraine with an orientation towards the “zero-emission buildings” (nZEB) standard in post-war reconstruction. The impact of the war on infrastructure and the experience of Poland and Germany in implementing phased thermal modernization are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the development of an innovative modular wall element based on a wooden spatial frame and cellulose filler. It is proven that the structure provides high thermal insulation and a negative indicator of global warming potential. This allows us to assert that the use of such carbon-neutral wood materials is a key factor in the decarbonization of the industry and the fulfillment of Ukraine’s climate obligations as an associated member of the EU.
